Writers and Wanna Be writers,

Roy Rogers and I worked with many writers during our careers, but I've befriended a hero of mine. Her name is Anne Frank. I was age 32 when she was hiding from the Germans during World War II.

Anne kept a diary during the war while her family hid in Holland, fearful of being found by the Gestapo. She described the difficulties of living in a confined space. The atmosphere was suffocating, but despite the hardships and challenges of her situation, she kept writing.

I remember reading her ageless words."I long to ride a bike, dance, whistle, look at the world, feel young and know that I’m free, and yet I can’t let it show. Just imagine what would happen if all eight of us were to feel sorry for ourselves or walk around with the discontent clearly visible on our faces. Where would that get us?"

Anne's family was discovered after someone betrayed them and notified the Germans. Anne was shipped to a concentration camp where she died of typhoid fever only one month before the camp was liberated by the allies.

Her father published her diary two years after the war ended.

It's so interesting the people you meet here.

Is Dale Evans in Heaven?

Dale Evans was one of the most beloved television stars of the 1950s and 1960s. She was a popular actress, singer, Christian speaker and author. It didn’t hurt that she was married to one of the most famous Hollywood cowboy actors and singers, Roy Rogers. They were married over 40 years until Roy died in 1998. Evans followed him in death in 2001.

So, is Dale Evans in Heaven? Dale Evans is most assuredly in heaven since she became a Christian sometime around 1947 and lived the remaining years of her life publicly professing her faith on television and during personal appearances.

According to the Happy Trails Children’s Foundation, a non-profit started by Roy and Dale, following Evan’s conversion to Christianity, she faithfully shared her testimony with the public throughout the rest of her life. In addition:

“Evans became a popular speaker and tireless volunteer with Christian and charitable organizations.  She had her own long-running television show on TBN.  She wrote more than 20 inspirational books, including the best seller, Angel Unaware; a book devoted to little Robin, the only child that Roy and Dale had together.  Robin was a Down’s syndrome baby that died at two years of age.  Other challenges to her great faith came when Debbie, an adopted Korean American girl, died in a church bus crash at the age of 12, followed by the death of Sandy, an adopted son, while serving in the Army in Germany.”

Purpose of Telegrams From Heaven

The “authors” of each Telegram From Heaven are men and women of accomplishment who lived in the ancient or recent past. Each were known for their faith, or at least the potential for faith during their lifetimes. They are from around the globe, from every walk of life, and their life stories are inspiring and encouraging. We believe these stories offer powerful messages that might help change lives in some small or meaningful way, even if just to improve your walk with God, or to realize someone cares enough to send you a Telegram From Heaven.

The word “heaven” inspires limitless definitions among the religious and non-religious. A few examples include “the home of God,” “a setting of ultimate perfection in the clouds,” or “a place where the resurrection bodies and departed souls of believers spend eternity.” Most often the word conjures up images of ornate, opulent buildings and streets paved with gold. Of beauty, of paradise, of a heavenly kingdom.

Most Christians believe it is a real place, separate from Earth. Others are convinced it is close enough for its inhabitants to reveal themselves miraculously to the living.

Through brief, focused and topical messages, Telegrams From Heaven intends to encourage, entertain and inspire our neighbors around the world. We want to provide hope and inspiration.
